About Us
Westtown, New York
When I bought The Maple Overlook, I wasn’t looking for a venue. I was looking for a place I could share.
I’m Mirte — Dutch-born, New York-based, and someone who fell in love with upstate New York somewhere between modeling jobs, Columbia University lectures, and long drives out of the city. I had already built a small rental portfolio in Brooklyn and Miami, but The Maple Overlook felt different from the moment I found it.
I stumbled across the property online while searching for a weekend place for a friend. Then I couldn’t stop thinking about it.
Twenty-three acres. Open valley views. A long private driveway. A house that made you exhale before you even reached the front door.
So I bought it. And then I began sharing it.
The Maple Overlook is not a hotel. It’s not a retreat center. And it’s not a traditional event venue. It is a private estate that becomes entirely yours for the weekend — completely and exclusively. No shared spaces, no strangers, no set schedule. Just room to gather, celebrate, slow down, and make the kind of memories that don’t happen in ordinary places.
Whether you are coming for an intimate wedding, a milestone weekend, a family gathering, or a retreat with your closest people, the property was designed for moments that feel both elevated and deeply personal.
I personally curated every corner of the estate: the chef’s kitchen with its long marble island and valley views, the barrel sauna tucked into the hillside, the padel court, the fire pit circle, the heated pool, and the private bar with its dark navy-and-brass speakeasy details. I wanted to create a place where high energy and deep rest could coexist — where a weekend could move from champagne by the pool to dinner under the stars to coffee on the porch the next morning.
Every guest who arrives here gets the version of upstate New York I fell in love with: private, beautiful, unhurried, and just close enough to New York City to feel effortless.
I hope The Maple Overlook becomes the backdrop for a weekend you never forget.
With warmth,
Mirte
